Matui Isaac Thomas (MI Thomas) is a scriptwriter in animation. He sits as the Head of Story at Magic Carpet Studios, an innovation storytelling company committed to transforming the human consciousness by putting authentic African stories on the map of global entertainment. Currently one of the few studios with an in-house story team. He co-founded Magic Scroll, the studio’s division dedicated to developing and acquiring IPs. Over the years Matui Isaac has supervised the development of all major scripts of the studio from “The Passport of Mallam Ilia” to “Meet the Igwes”.
Born in Northern Nigeria, Matui Isaac graduated from the University of Maiduguri in with a B.A. (Hons) in Mass Communication and had brief stints as the editor for online publication TrendingAfrique as well as monthly travelogue magazine City Guide in Lagos, Nigeria. His writing credits include crime thriller, Secrets published by John Publishing House, Abuja and Maiduguri: The Untold Stories. One unpublished work is Milestones: Memoirs of Service Years. He has also written over 1000 poems, dozens of scripts for screen and television including the screen adaptation of The Passport of Mallam Ilia by Cyprian Ekwensi currently in production by Magic Carpet Studios.
