WILLIAMS CHECHET

Williams Chechet is a multi-talented pop artist, graphic designer, illustrator and muralist who's one to watch. The Nigerian creative is influenced by his culture, history, afro futurism, afro beats and hip hop—and this screams at you when looking at his body of explosive work.

Williams Chechet was born in Kano but raised in Kaduna in northern Nigeria, Chechet studied Industrial Design at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.

His Northern heritage is very evident in his recent works. Chechet strongly believes that art has the power to heal, inspire and bring people together and gives back to the community by inspiring young artists and designers to master their craft and pursue their passion in art. Chechet’s latest art project, We Are The North, is a series of beautiful illustrations from northern Nigeria, influenced by pop art.
