Born in 1967 Diré, Mali in the region of Timbuktu, Abdou Ouologuem is a remarkably versatile artist, effortlessly traversing the wide expanse of artistic genres. He demonstrates exceptional skill in painting, sculpture, decoration, and costume design, and showcases a mastery of various artistic mediums. He meticulously crafts his artwork, grinding cardboard, kneading paint, undoing and redoing seams, and inventing new colors. A true maverick, utilizing natural resources like soil to create his pieces, and exercising his creative freedom with great passion, a constantly moving force, Ouologuem's artistry is akin to a tempest, impossible to contain within any particular location. He has served as an illustrator and animator for AIFO, supporting Swiss Cooperation's efforts in Niafunké. His captivating artwork has been featured in exhibitions across the globe, including in Japan, the USA, France, and Senegal, and is prized by numerous prominent collectors who have made it a part of their personal collections.
